Ashley is a gong practitioner, sound healer and complementary therapist of nearly two decades as Dancing Tree, and his practices are deeply rooted in their connection to nature, a sense of home, and of belonging. More recently his attention was turned, with the help of the druidic creative muse that is Awen, to creating his own handforged, healing instruments here in his home of West Wales, and Awen Sounds was born.
Awen Sounds gongs are intrinsically individual; each one is cold forged by hand from its raw sheet metal state, and every intuitive blow informs how the final gong will look and sound.
After the surface is artfully etched, the gongs undergo an intense firing in the Welsh outdoors, where inspiration and the elements work together to create the final colouring of each one.

Once created, catalogued and placed in the online shop, the gongs arrive at our studio to await the next part of their journey with their new owners.
The sound quality of our gongs is obviously best experienced in the flesh, and we created our Gong Studio for this very purpose so you may view the gongs, feel their vibration and intuitively choose which fits your vibe.

With a lifelong connection to sound, nature and Spirit, and nearly two decades as a complementary therapist, Awen Sounds is the culmination of his love of native spirituality and his quest for homegrown sound healing instruments.
Awen Sounds gongs are cold-forged and wood-fired European style gongs, handmade by Ash - with a dash of creativity from his wife Sarah - in the wilds of West Wales.
